The initiative aims to improve access to essential healthcare services for underserved communities by strengthening the availability of life-saving platelet support.

Strengthening access to life-saving platelet therapy for critically ill patients, Aadhar Housing Finance Ltd., under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative ‘Aayushmaan Aadhar’, has provided the Lions blood bank in Gurugram with an Apheresis Machine. The initiative is aimed at enhancing the availability of critical blood components and improving emergency healthcare support in the region.
The newly installed apheresis machine significantly enhances the Blood Centre’s capability to provide single donor platelets (SDP), which are crucial for patients suffering from dengue, cancer, blood disorders, and other acute medical conditions where timely platelet transfusion can be life-saving. The technology enables platelets to be safely collected from a single healthy donor while returning other blood components to the donor, ensuring greater donor safety, comfort, and sustainability.
The initiative is expected to directly benefit hospitals across Gurugram and surrounding areas by ensuring a timely and reliable supply of high-quality single donor platelets, particularly during periods of high demand such as dengue outbreaks and ongoing cancer treatments. An estimated 800 patients are expected to benefit annually, supporting improved clinical outcomes and higher survival rates. This advancement strengthens operational efficiency and enables a quicker response during medical emergencies.

Mr. Rishi Anand, MD and CEO at Aadhar Housing Finance Ltd. said, “We believe access to healthcare is as important as access to housing. Through our CSR initiative ‘Aayushmaan Aadhar’, we are proud to support the Lions Blood Center in Gurugram by facilitating advanced apheresis machine to enable timely and safe medical care for critical patients, especially from unserved communities. We remain committed to strengthening healthcare infrastructure and creating meaningful impact.
Expressing gratitude for the support, Mr. Sandeep Kumar, Chairman – Lions Blood Center (Gurgaon), said “We are sincerely thankful to Aadhar Housing Finance Ltd. for their support, which will help us scale safe and timely platelet transfusion services for needy patients. This contribution allows us to strengthen healthcare access for the underprivileged section of the community around Gurugram.”
