Adding to its existing emergency response mechanism, Instamart has introduced a QR-code-enabled safety initiative to enhance real-time support for delivery partners/Strengthens the ‘Delivering Safely’ charter through road safety trainings, rallies, and helmet distribution

In observance of National Road Safety Month and the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways’ Sadak Suraksha Abhiyan (SSA) 2026, Instamart, India’s pioneering quick commerce platform, today announced additional safety initiatives designed to enhance on-road protection and emergency preparedness for its delivery partners. As part of this initiative, Instamart has partnered with VecRep to introduce a two-pronged safety programme consisting of an emergency QR code solution and preventive vehicular inspections.
At the heart of the partnership is ResQTag, powered by VecRep – a QR- and NFC-enabled safety tool that allows delivery partners to trigger rapid, verified alerts during accidents, breakdowns, or roadside emergencies. The system instantly notifies registered emergency contacts without revealing personal phone numbers, protecting privacy while saving critical time. Beyond emergency response, Instamart is also offering free safety inspections for delivery partners. Through VecRep’s network of verified garages, delivery partners receive priority servicing and preventive maintenance support, helping reduce breakdown-related downtime. The pilot is currently live across Delhi, Gurgaon, Noida, Greater Noida, Chandigarh, Jaipur, Faridabad, Ghaziabad, Mohali, Zirakpur, Panchkula, Kharar and Dehradun.

Speaking about the initiative, Ankit Jain, Chief Operating Officer at Instamart, said, “Our delivery partners are the backbone of everything we do, and their safety will always be a priority. With solutions like ResQTag, combined with practical on-ground training and preventive support, we’re enhancing real-time emergency response and promoting safer, more confident riding habits, firmly placing delivery partners’ safety and well-being first.”
Speaking about the initiative, Rajat Soni, Co-Founder – VecRep said, “Delivery partners spend most of their time on the road, and safety interventions need to be practical, fast, and built for real-world scenarios. Through Sadak Suraksha Abhiyan, our collaboration with Instamart brings together ResQTag’s instant emergency response capability with on-ground training and preventive vehicle care, creating a safety net that works when seconds matter. This pilot marks the beginning of a long-term effort to embed road safety awareness, preparedness, and reliable support into the everyday journeys of delivery partners across the country.”
This initiative builds on Swiggy’s ongoing Delivering Safely charter, a nationwide road safety campaign designed to promote responsible riding and reduce on-road risks among delivery partners. In 2025, Swiggy conducted 22+ structured road safety awareness training and awareness workshops in partnership with city traffic police departments, along with safety rallies and pledges, and distributed free helmets in collaboration with traffic authorities to sensitize thousands of delivery partners.
These latest emergency initiatives add to Swiggy’s long-term safety protocols, including the in-app SOS button that connects delivery partners to a helpline, the local police, or hospitals. In 2023, Swiggy became the first delivery platform to introduce free ambulance services for delivery partners. The platform currently has over 6.9 lakh delivery partners across the country, who receive benefits such as accident insurance, medical coverage, income support during recovery from an accident or illness, and bereavement leave, among others.
