AISA along with other progressive student organisations and common students joined the protest call of AUD Students’ Council Karampura (AUDSC-KP) against the acute infrastructure crisis in Ambedkar University Delhi.
The students have been demanding properly functioning classrooms, water coolers and hygienic sanitary conditions in their campus. AISA AUD President Mohammed Ali Khan addressed the public gathering today pointing out the dilapidated conditions of classrooms in the university along with the dysfunctional state of basic amenities like drinking water and a scholars’ room. ‘We have been given pathetic classrooms and campus infrastructure on one hand and when we raise our voices in protest, we are shown the beating stick of proctorial inquiry. All of this while AUD remains a state public University with one of the highest fees. All of this betrays the spirit of a public university and public education.’
Alongside AUDSC-KP demanding the withdrawal of the 31st July noticed imposing mandatory attendance and curtailing the right to peacefully assemble. The circular curtailing public gatherings mandates students to submit a memorandum 4 days in advance before organising a public gathering. Similarly students allege that the circular on mandatory attendance for PhD scholars released on the same date allows for the administration to upend surveillance upon PhD scholars in the university. AUDSC-KP is currently led by Treasurer Vivek from AISA who along with other councillors submitted a memorandum on 20th August, 2026 to seek redressal of all these issues. Vivek also said how the University Administration actively disempowers the Students’ Council by not consulting them in any way before promulgating policies that directly affect students.
The students demanded that the Deputy Registrar (DR) Karampura campus address the students and respond as to why their long pending demands have not been resolved. The DR asked for more time until 12th September to address all the demands made by the students. Elected course Councillors informed the administration to further their protest on 13th of September if their demands were not met. AISA
