AISA holds Badlo DU, Badlo DUSU rally at Arts Faculty ahead of Delhi University Students’ Union Elections! Hundreds of students join the clarion call to continue the spirit of Jantar Mantar movement!
Om 3rd September, AISA in Delhi University held ‘Badlo DU, Badlo DUSU’ Rally at Arts Faculty and showed the mass resolve among students to defeat ABVP’s muscle politics and carry forward the spirit of the Jantar Mantar movement inside Delhi University. Hundreds of students joined in the march from all across the university demanding hostels, metro passes, repeal of NEP and NTA along with better ICCs and UGC Regulations. AISA DUSU candidates, Ananya and Akshat addressed the gathering, congratulating the students on the victory in Delhi High Court against the affidavit for parental consent to contest DUSU. The Delhi High Court upheld the basic democratic principle of autonomy of adults to run for office.
Comrade Neha, AISA All India President said to the gathering, “in this quagmire of show of ugly wealth and violence, you are the ones who stood tall and defeated Dharmendra Pradhan, AISA is the force that challenges this fuedal politcs ever day and may you AISA go strength to strength in this DUSU election.” The victory against parental consent is a major step in defeating the arbitrary and anti-democratic attitude of Delhi University administration in conducting the DUSU Elections with a clear bias towards the politics that has resulted in the stringent surveillance of the public eye.
