AISA Holds Solidarity March at Delhi University’s South Campus as Students Unite Against Rising Sexual Harassment and Patriarchy

AISA Delhi University held a solidarity march at South Campus, demonstrating the collective resolve of women, queer students, and the wider student community against rising gendered violence and unsafe university campuses.

The alleged harassment of a minor student from LSR has led to nationwide agitation against sexual violence and what protesters describe as the failure of the Modi government to protect women’s rights and freedom. Hundreds of students joined the march, raising demands for structured and political intervention against gendered violence and patriarchy, functional Internal Complaints Committees (ICCs), and safe college campuses.

Addressing the gathering, AISA South Zone Convenor Comrade Nirali said “Rape and sexual violence are longstanding issues. The struggle did not start with LSR, nor will it end here. We will keep fighting until we are all free from the fear of rape, harassment, and sexual violence.” Feminist political intervention has become a necessity to dismantle patriarchy, and women across the country are rising on the streets. We must continue the legacy of Savitribai Phule and B. R. Ambedkar in the struggle against gender inequality and for an equal and egalitarian India. Women hold up half the sky and half the ground!”
