Economic independence is foundational to gender equality and dignity……

Marking International Women’s Day, ETASHA Society has announced the launch of a special campaign focused on expanding skilling and employment opportunities for young women from underserved communities. Reinforcing its commitment to transparency and accountability, ETASHA has also been awarded the Gold Level Due Diligence Certification in 2025 by Give.do.
ETASHA has been listed on Give.do since 2023 and has consistently met rigorous due diligence standards. The Gold Level Certification recognises strong governance practices, financial transparency, and responsible utilisation of donor funds. The recognition further strengthens ETASHA’s position as a credible and trusted organisation for individuals and institutions seeking to contribute towards poverty alleviation, skills development, and sustainable livelihoods.
In a statement, Give.do said, “Give.do is India’s largest and most trusted giving platform, enabling individuals and organisations to raise and contribute funds with transparency and confidence. ETASHA Society is onboarded on our platform following due diligence and is recognised for its sustained and meaningful work in skilling youth and enabling income generation for underserved communities. We value partners like ETASHA who are committed to creating lasting impact with integrity.”

Through its Career Development Centers across Delhi NCR, Gurugram and Noida, ETASHA has skilled and placed over 22,000 youth from underserved communities into organised sector roles. Each employed youth positively impacts three to four family members, resulting in an estimated 88,000 individuals experiencing improved income stability. The organisation maintains an 80 percent placement rate across sectors including retail, hospitality, customer services, logistics, IT and ITES, BFSI, and entry-level corporate roles. Placed youth earn salaries ranging from ₹15,000 to ₹40,000 per month, and 70 percent report improved household income and increased personal savings within six months of employment.
A significant shift has been seen in gender inclusion. From a time when there was just one girl in a batch of twenty, women today constitute 60 percent of enrolment across ETASHA’s centers. Young women’s starting salaries are comparable to their male peers, contributing to income parity and greater economic independence. 90% of trainees demonstrate measurable improvement in communication skills, digital and software proficiency, workplace readiness, and behavioral competencies through structured pre- and post-assessments.
ETASHA’s employability model integrates sector-aligned technical training with communication skills, digital literacy, workplace technology use, and professional behavior orientation. Beyond employment outcomes, the programme drives deeper social transformation. Access to dignified work has reduced vulnerability to early marriage among young women and encouraged families to support continued education and long-term career aspirations. Recognising the critical role of the family ecosystem, ETASHA conducts home visits, structured counselling sessions, parent engagement discussions, and regular Family Days at its centers to facilitate mindset shifts and sustained support.
Participants frequently report reduced hesitation in speaking, increased confidence, a stronger sense of dignity and self-worth, greater awareness of industry growth pathways, and improved personal decision-making abilities. As part of the International Women’s Day campaign, ETASHA will spotlight transformation stories across its digital platforms, highlighting journeys from first salaries to international career aspirations, underscoring how skilling translates into economic mobility and expanded life choices.
“Economic independence is foundational to gender equality and dignity,” said Parul Mehra, Chief Corporate Affairs Officer, ETASHA. “When a young woman gains skills and secures dignified employment, the impact extends beyond her individual success to strengthen families and communities. Our Gold Level Certification from Give.do reaffirms our commitment to transparency, governance, and measurable impact.”
Through its verified fundraising page on Give.do, ETASHA invites individuals and organisations to contribute towards expanding access to training and employment opportunities for more young women and youth seeking sustainable livelihoods.
