Akshat Shikhar who hails from Allahabad prepared for the NEET UG 2026 exam only to later find out that the exam has been leaked and cancelled.

Infuriated at the system, Akshat joined the protests at Jantar Mantar and eventually was active the whole time in AISA’s 23 day hunger strike in solidarity with Sonam Wanghuk. Akshat took admission in Motilal Nehru College and has decided to take up the spirit of Jantar Mantar inside the University. Ananya Raturi, hailing from Uttarakhand has been one of the most fierce women voices at the campus. She led the movement against sexual harrasment at IPCW which resulted in a proctorial inquiry on the administration. Her fight in the movement against Arun Attri, the principal of SBSC who assaulted a Dalit student sent waves in the University. In 2025, Ananya was alone attacked by Aryan Maan’s team when she confronted him about his hypermasculine and muscle based politics in RLA College. This time Ananya is one of the candidates fielded by AISA in DUSU, an activist who represents the vision of an accessible and affordable DU.

AISA believes that this DUSU election is a continuation of the glorious movement at Jantar Mantar and must resolve to struggle against the NEP 2020, NTA and for quality, affordable and accessible education. AISA’s agenda for this year reflects years of struggle against the bogus SEC, VAC courses offered under the FYUP, the lack of hostels and cheaper accomodation for students, the dire need for metro passes for students along with fighting the unprecedented saffronization of syllabus in Delhi University. This year, carrying the movements at Jantar Mantar and the movement for UGC Equity Regulations on its back, AISA is up to a sharp fight in DU against a dormant and hooligan DUSU championed by ABVP. This DUSU is a continuation of Jantar Mantar movement! AISA appeals to all democratic forces to come together and defeat ABVP, AISA, Delhi University
