Students from Mumbai and Tata Power’s Hydro regions in Mandavne, Gaulwadi, Karanjgaon, Inglun, Vahangaon, Wadeshwar, Tamhini, Ambavane and Bhira, present STEM-based models and sustainable solutions for a cleaner, greener tomorrow

Reinforcing its commitment to nurturing young minds as future clean-energy leaders, Tata Power, one of India’s largest integrated power companies, hosted the ‘Urja Mela 2025’ in Trombay, Mumbai.
The day-long learning showcase brought together 300+ students and educators from 27 schools across Mumbai and Tata Power’s Hydro regions in Mandavne, Gaulwadi, Karanjgaon, Inglun, Vahangaon, Wadeshwar, Tamhini, Ambavane, Bhira, creating a collaborative platform to explore the theme “Clean Energy, Greener Tomorrow.”
The exhibition featured STEM-focused science models, poster-making, quiz competitions, live demonstrations, cultural performances, and interactive engagement formats designed to deepen awareness on climate responsibility and energy-efficient behaviour.
A key highlight of the event was the launch of the Club Enerji educational booklet in marathi, further strengthening Tata Power’s commitment to providing practical, student-friendly learning resources on clean energy and sustainability.

Students selected from the day-long competitions will now participate in the National Urja Mela in Delhi, held during the National Energy Conservation Week, marking the culmination of year-long engagements.
The event was graced by Tata Power senior leaders Mr. Himal Tewari, CHRO and Chief – Sustainability & CSR; Mr. Ashish Bhat, Chief – Trombay; Mr. Vispi Patel, Company Secretary; Ms. Jyoti Bansal, Chief – Corporate Communication; and Mr. Pankaj Kumar Singh, Chief – Community Impact (Generation, T&D and Renewables), who encouraged students to think boldly, innovate responsibly, and adopt small but meaningful actions for environmental conservation.
Organised under Tata Power’s flagship Club Enerji movement — one of India’s largest school-based sustainability programmes — Urja Mela aims to nurture environmental leadership among children and encourage community-led climate action. Launched in 2007, Club Enerji has grown into a nationwide initiative that now reaches over 10 lakh students from 2,500+ schools across 15 states and 15 aspirational districts, including rural and government-run institutions.
Over the years, Urja Melas and Mini Urja Melas conducted at various Tata Power locations have engaged 50,000+ students, encouraging them to adopt and advocate sustainable practices at home, often driving what is referred to as a reverse parenting approach, where children inspire families towards greener lifestyles.
Continuing this journey, Club Enerji recently expanded through the Club Enerji Eco Crew Program, which has already reached 1,000+ schools and 3 lakh students across 24 cities in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand. The programme combines on-ground activations, student-friendly learning booklets and a 21-day gamified digital learning journey, aligning with Mission LiFE and Digital India to encourage practical, everyday sustainability.
Urja Mela 2025 exemplified this legacy, with students presenting innovative STEM models focused on clean energy and conservation. The initiative reaffirms Tata Power’s commitment to nurturing the next generation of clean-energy champions and advancing India’s long-term Net Zero vision, staying true to its philosophy of Powering Transformations.
