Dharampal Satyapal Group (DS Group), a leading FMCG conglomerate and multi business corporation partnered with the Composite School in Buchcha Basti, Purquazi, Muzaffarnagar, to uplift its infrastructure under the organization’s Community Development Project.

This initiative was specifically designed to foster a safer and more conducive learning environment, ensuring that students have access to the resources necessary for academic success. The newly upgraded facility was formally inaugurated by Sh. Kamal Kishor Deshbhusan, Chief Development Officer (CDO) of Muzaffarnagar, marking a milestone in the local commitment to educational excellence. The inauguration ceremony was attended by a distinguished group of officials and community leaders, reflecting the collaborative spirit of the project. Among those present were Sh. Sandeep Kumar, Basic Shiksha Adhikari (BSA) of Muzaffarnagar; Sh. Kamlesh Babu, Block Education Officer (BEO) of Purquazi; and Mr. Vijay Kumar Sharma, Headmaster In-charge of the Composite School. The local administration was further represented by Smt. Omwati, Pradhan of Gram Panchayat Sakarpur, highlighting the deep-rooted community support for this essential educational upgrade.

The intervention includes construction of a boundary wall, installation of iron fencing, development of a secure main entrance gate and BaLA (Building as Learning Aid) paintings to create a safer, more engaging and child-friendly campus. These improvements have significantly enhanced campus safety, reduced external disturbances and established a clearly demarcated learning environment particularly benefiting girl students. On the inauguration Mr Prabhakant Jain, GM, Sustainability & CSR, DS Group said, “At DS Group, we believe that access to safe and enabling learning environments is fundamental to driving equitable development. This initiative reflects our commitment to strengthening grassroots education infrastructure through collaborative, community-led models. Such initiatives will not only improve infrastructure but also inspire confidence among students and the community, paving the way for better educational outcomes. “ The initiative was further strengthened through collaboration with the Gram Panchayat and school authorities, who supported additional improvements such as toilet construction and repairs, ground levelling and installation of paver blocks. This approach has enhanced the overall usability of the school premises while creating strong community ownership.
Buchcha Basti is located approximately 35 km from Muzaffarnagar city and is an agriculture-dependent village with a literacy rate of 43% and female literacy at 16%. The village’s Composite School (Classes 1–8), which serves 74 students, previously operated without a boundary wall or gate, resulting in safety concerns and frequent external disturbances that impacted the learning environment, particularly for girl students.
The transformation has resulted in improved student safety and comfort, better attendance and classroom engagement and increased confidence among students especially girls marking a meaningful step toward strengthening foundational education outcomes in rural Muzaffarnagar.
