Mobile Medical Unit flagged off to serve an estimated 1,00,000 people across rural communities in Barsana region (Mathura District)

Honda India Foundation (HIF), in partnership with Bhakti Vedanta Eye Hospital, today flagged off a Mobile Medical Unit to strengthen access to eye care services across 150+ villages in and around Barsana, Mathura district, Uttar Pradesh. The flag-off ceremony was graced by Smt. Hema Malini Ji, Member of Parliament, Mathura, alongside Mr. Vinay Dhingra, Trustee, Honda India Foundation, Ms. Sachimi Takata, Director, HMSI and Mr. Rajeev Taneja, Operating Officer, Honda India Foundation. “Eye health is foundational to dignity, independence, and livelihood. At Honda India Foundation, we believe healthcare access should not be a privilege of geography. This partnership with Bhakti Vedanta Eye Hospital reflects our commitment to reaching underserved communities with meaningful and sustained support.” said Mr. Vinay Dhingra, Trustee, Honda India Foundation.

In many rural communities, limited mobility, lack of awareness, and affordability challenges can delay timely access to eye care services. By deploying the Mobile Medical Unit directly to people’s doorsteps, this initiative aims to bridge this gap for an estimated 1,00,000+ residents in the region. The unit will provide free eye screenings, primary consultations, and basic treatment support and spectacles.
Through such programmes, Honda India Foundation continues to support community-focused healthcare initiatives aligned with local needs and a long-term approach.
