Jamia Remembers, Jamia Echoes, Students Unite On Jamia Resistance Day!

AISA along with other organisations organised a remembrance gathering and march in JMI campus to mark the anniversary of the police brutality against students on 15th December 2019. Hundreds of students joined the call, raising slogans in remembrance of the events and demanding the release of Anti-CAA activists who have been kept jailed since years without proper trial under sedition laws.

Comrade Saiyed addressed the March from AISA and reiterated the need to unite and fight against the witch-hunting of students done by the admin-sangh nexus which has utilised punitive measures to an extreme extent of repression, the most recent case being that of Comrade Saurabh’s campus ban notice. The need to unite and fight against this undemocratic clampdown was reasserted.

The gathering was followed by a march upto the Zakir Hussain library where it was concluded by students reciting songs and poetry. This year too, 15th December marks the legacy of resistance in Jamia and the fight to keep memory alive for transforming it into a struggle against the era of repression that the campus faces.
