SEVA Home launches The Sari Archival

A sari carries more than fabric. It carries memory, craft, celebration and generations of stories.

With The Sari Archival, luxury home fragrance brand SEVA Home gives these textiles another chapter, transforming discarded and archival sari fabrics into one-of-a-kind vessels of light, each one hand-wrapped and carrying a story of its own. Nothing wasted. Every story carried forward. The collection is the newest chapter in a story that began for founder Arushi Agrawal with a simple question: can a luxury candle brand create tangible social change? Since SEVA Home was founded in 2019, social impact has been woven into the brand. Through its partnership with the Samta Foundation, where with every ten products sold fund a cataract surgery in rural Maharashtra, and more than 5,000 surgeries have been facilitated to date, restoring sight and transforming lives. SEVA Home’s candles are hand-poured with love by women from underprivileged communities, who are trained and employed in the candle-making process. The Sari Archival takes that journey one step further, from restoring sight to creating livelihoods and enabling independence.

That belief is at the heart of the collection’s giving. For every 10 Sari Archival candles sold, SEVA Home will donate one sewing machine to a woman in need through the Samta Foundation. A sewing machine is more than a tool. It can allow a woman to work from home, build a skill into a livelihood and earn on her own terms. A tool for creation, a means of earning, and a step towards independence. So that one purchase can become something much bigger: a skill, an income, an opportunity, and perhaps a new beginning.

“A sari once worn by one woman is reimagined by the hands of another, and its next chapter helps give another woman the tools to create her own,” says Arushi Agrawal, Founder & Director, SEVA Home. “A brand can be both beautifully designed and deeply purposeful. When craft becomes a source of income, it reaches beyond the individual. From one woman to another, the thread continues.”
