In a profound expression of gratitude to the Indian Army’s indomitable courage and selfless service, the Yogiraj Sarkar Godariwale Trust (YSGT) successfully organized its fourth consecutive blood donation camp on 8 th February at the Community Hall of Sri Sanatan Dharam Mandir. The initiative witnessed an overwhelming response, with nearly 100 voluntary donors coming forward to participate in this life-saving endeavour reaffirming the community’s commitment to humanitarian service.
Guided by its enduring principle, “First Serve, Then Deserve,” the Trust has consistently pioneered causes that place social responsibility above self-interest. Over the years, YSGT has emerged as a steadfast force in community welfare, regularly organizing blood donation drives across Delhi and several major cities of North India, thereby fostering a culture of empathy and civic duty.
Drawing inspiration from the Indian Army’s ethos of discipline, sacrifice and unwavering devotion to duty, the camp was graced by Major General S. B. K. Singh, SM, DG (R), who attended as the Chief Guest. Addressing the gathering, he powerfully underscored the critical importance of blood donation, particularly in high-risk and emergency scenarios such as war zones, where timely availability of blood often determines the thin line between life and death.

Echoing this conviction, he remarked,
“We befriend strangers when we donate a few drops of blood that can change someone’s life.”
He further reinforced the message by recounting a poignant real-life incident from his posting in Nagaland, where a tragic accidental misfire from a loaded rifle ruptured the femoral artery of a fellow soldier during a jungle operation. With no immediate access to blood transfusion facilities and despite evacuation efforts, the soldier succumbed to his injuries before reaching the station. The incident served as a stark reminder of how the absence of timely blood donation can cost a precious life.
Emphasizing the broader meaning of national service, he stated that serving the nation does not require a uniform, but rather grit, determination and an unwavering commitment to social causes. He inspired every youth present in the camp by reminding them that every act of blood donation carries the potential to save a life, making each donor a silent soldier in service of humanity. His words resonated deeply with the audience, instilling a profound sense of purpose, responsibility and pride.
The event stood as a powerful symbol of unity, patriotism and compassion, bringing together donors from diverse walks of life, all united by a shared resolve to contribute meaningfully to society. The Yogiraj Sarkar Godariwale Trust has remained unwavering in its mission to uplift the underprivileged through impactful initiatives. Over the past five years, the Trust has sponsored multiple paediatric cardiac surgeries at Artemis Hospital for economically disadvantaged families and has also extended sustained support toward the education of deserving individuals reinforcing its holistic approach to social welfare.
As the camp concluded, the enthusiastic participation and collective spirit of the community reaffirmed a shared commitment to giving back and standing in solidarity with the nation’s brave hearts. The Trust looks forward to organizing many more such transformative initiatives, steadfastly upholding its guiding belief “First Serve, Then Deserve.”
